Who GetMailer is for
GetMailer is designed for developers and businesses who need reliable delivery of transactional and behavior-triggered emails. These are emails triggered by user actions or system events:
- Password resets and account verification
- Order confirmations and receipts
- Shipping notifications and status updates
- Welcome emails and onboarding sequences
- Security alerts and login notifications
- Comment and activity notifications
- Engagement campaigns triggered by user behavior in your app
- Audience-targeted broadcasts to your opted-in users
Who GetMailer is not for
GetMailer is not the right fit for cold outreach or mass promotional use cases. If your primary need is any of the following, we recommend using a dedicated marketing email platform:
- Cold outreach or sales prospecting emails
- Bulk email to purchased or rented lists
- Mass unsolicited promotional announcements
- Affiliate marketing emails
For these use cases, we recommend platforms like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Klaviyo, or Resend Audiences that specialize in marketing email delivery and list management.
Account review
We review accounts to ensure they align with our intended use cases. Accounts that appear to be primarily cold outreach or bulk promotional may be asked to migrate to a more suitable platform. Behavior-triggered campaigns, audience broadcasts to opted-in users, and automated sequences are welcome use cases.
Prohibited activities
Regardless of email type, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
- Using purchased, rented, or scraped email lists
- Sending phishing attempts or fraudulent content
- Distributing malware or malicious attachments
- Impersonating other individuals or organizations
- Sending content that violates applicable laws
- Harassing or threatening recipients
- Circumventing unsubscribe requests
Compliance
All users must comply with applicable email regulations including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and other anti-spam laws in their jurisdiction. You are responsible for obtaining proper consent from your recipients and honoring unsubscribe requests.
Zero tolerance for abuse
We take abuse seriously. GetMailer operates a multi-layered, automated abuse detection system that monitors every email sent through our platform in real time. There is no grace period, no warning, and no second chance for phishing, scams, or spam.
Our systems detect and act on:
- Phishing and brand impersonation — we maintain a database of commonly-phished brands and use domain similarity analysis to catch look-alike domains instantly
- Velocity anomalies — sudden spikes in sending volume, especially from new accounts, are flagged and blocked
- Spray-and-pray detection — sending identical content to large numbers of unrelated recipient domains
- Content analysis — emails are scanned for known phishing patterns including fake invoices, toll scams, account verification lures, and financial fraud
- Domain intelligence — we check domain registration age, web presence, and DNS records. Freshly registered domains with no legitimate website are treated as high-risk
- Bounce and complaint monitoring — abnormally high failure rates trigger automatic throttling and suspension
- Continuous worker audits — a background system audits all accounts every few minutes, catching patterns that real-time checks might miss
When abuse is detected, we act immediately. Accounts are suspended within seconds — API keys are revoked, domains are blocked, email limits are set to zero, and all sending stops. This is not optional. It is automatic.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy result in immediate action:
- Throttling — temporary reduction in sending rate while we review your activity
- Suspension — all sending is halted, API keys are revoked, domains are unverified, and email quota is set to zero. Only our team can reinstate a suspended account after manual review
- Permanent ban — serious violations such as phishing, fraud, or brand impersonation result in permanent removal from the platform with no option to appeal
- Law enforcement referral — phishing campaigns, financial fraud, and other criminal activity are reported to relevant authorities along with all account and sending data
If your account is suspended for a non-critical violation, you can submit an appeal from the suspension page. Our team reviews every appeal. However, accounts involved in phishing, impersonation, or fraud will not be reinstated.
